PAN Amsterdam: Two Remarkable Premieres

SmithDavidson Gallery returns to PAN Amsterdam this November with two remarkable premieres: the first presentation in the Netherlands of Vincent Lagrange’s sculptural series Never Enough and the PAN debut of 11-year-old Alf Bärbel Wit Peters, the youngest artist ever to be presented at the fair.

Vincent Lagrange — Never Enough

For more than two decades, Belgian artist Vincent Lagrange has been acclaimed for the extraordinary intimacy of his animal portraits, particularly his celebrated series Between Us. With Never Enough, he takes his practice in a striking new direction, transforming the language of photography into sculptural wall works that explore excess, volume and the tension between image and physical form.

Following an exciting premiere in Belgium, SmithDavidson Gallery will introduce Never Enough to the Netherlands at PAN. In December, the gallery will continue its international presentation of the series with its US premiere during Miami Art Week.

Alf Bärbel Wit Peters — The Youngest Artist Ever at PAN

A very different debut comes from Alf Bärbel Wit Peters. At only 11 years old, Alf will become the youngest artist ever presented at PAN Amsterdam.

SmithDavidson Gallery first introduced his work in May 2026, immediately attracting widespread national television and radio coverage, followed by international interest from collectors and art lovers. Just a few months later, every work from his debut collection has found a collector, a remarkable beginning for an artist whose paintings communicate through instinct, rhythm and imagination. His PAN debut marks the next chapter in what SmithDavidson Gallery believes will be an exciting artistic journey.

Alongside these two premieres, the gallery will present a selection of Australian Aboriginal art, as well as works by permanent gallery artists including Marie Cécile Thijs, Matthijs Scholten and Zhuang Hong Yi.

Two artists at entirely different moments in their careers, one entering a new chapter, the other just beginning his. Two premieres brought together at SmithDavidson Gallery during PAN Amsterdam 2026.
