The roundels in this painting depict camp sites of a group of women camped at the rockhole site of Yumara, near Tjukula in Western Australia. The women had travelled from Punkilpirri, a large permanent water site north-west of Docker River in the Water James Range. They later continued their travels ro the north through Tjukula and Tjalili. While at Yumara the women performed ceremonies associate with the area, including making hair string belts.


Please note that all First Nations Art is created from a so called ‘Birds Eye’ view. This means that the artworks can be hung either horizontally as well as vertically.
