A central focus of our presentation is a selection of major works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye, one of the most important Australian First Nations artists of the 20th century. Her expressive, large-scale paintings, such as Yam Dreaming (1995) and Alhalkere, My Country (1995), demonstrates her deep connection to land, ceremony, and ancestral knowledge. We are proud to exhibit her work in anticipation of her upcoming solo exhibition at Tate Modern, opening later this year.
We are also showing works by fellow leading First Nations artists including Makinti Napanangka, whose gestural compositions reflect sacred sites and women's stories of the Western Desert; Paddy Nyunkuny Bedford, known for his bold, minimal abstractions of Country and Don Ellis Tjapanangka, represented by a rare early print from 1971 titled Boy’s Story (Version 2).
Additional highlights include Rover Thomas Joolama’s powerful ochre-on-linen paintings and a chromatic work by Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez from his Physichromie series.
We look forward to welcoming you at the fair.
