SmithDavidson Gallery is pleased to highlight the work of Pepe Valenti, a young Barcelona-born artist whose practice moves between sculpture, installation and collectible design. Now based between the Netherlands and Spain, Valenti approaches materials through intuition and hands-on experimentation, allowing each piece to evolve through process rather than fixed plans.
Much of his work is shaped by his deep connection to nature. Time spent floating in the sea or walking through forests continues to fuel his creative energy, and he aims to translate those moments of calm, movement and light into his polished metal installations. His El Mar series, for instance, captures the shifting reflections of sunlight on water, using stainless steel and metal plating to evoke sunrise, sunset and the sea’s quiet power.

Valenti describes creativity as something that appears through doing, letting the craft guide the outcome and remaining open to discovery. This approach results in works that feel both serene and dynamic, inviting viewers to experience a sense of wonder similar to what he finds in nature. His installations have been presented internationally, and he continues to explore new materials, recently turning to stone with renewed curiosity.
