SmithDavidson Gallery presents an exclusive online viewing room with new works by Dutch artist Matthijs Scholten in the new online exposition “The Painted Talisman”.
Created between his studios in Amsterdam and Bali, these recent works reflect a continuing development in Scholten’s artistic practice. His paintings draw from personal emotion and intuition, balancing spontaneity with structure through expressive brushwork, vivid color, and recurring motifs such as flowers, animals, and angelic figures.
