Vincent Lagrange Belgian, b. 1987

"I aim to change how we perceive our place in the greater scheme of things. This picture offers a rare view into the lives and feelings of animals, reminding us that we are not alone on this earth, but rather intimately related with the animals that surround us."

SmithDavidson Gallery is the official gallery for Vincent Lagrange with access to the full collection.

Inspired by the resilience and nobility of his beloved pet cat, Dwiezel, Vincent has dedicated his career to capturing the unique spirit of animals through the classic techniques of human portraiture. His work is characterized by a focus on trust, kindness, and openness in his relationships with his subjects, resulting in photographs that showcase the inner energy and dignity of his subjects. Vincent Lagrange wants to make people small in the world of his animals. Vincent’s on-going series of portraits, is built around a single mission: to give animals a voice through the power of the photographed image which will allow them to tell their own story.

As a renowned portrait photographer, Vincent Lagrange has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including being featured on the cover of National Geographic Magazine in 2022 and publishing an international book of human dog portraits.
